Mission Statement
At Dance Works our aim is to nurture and encourage each individual regardless of skill or talent so that through discipline, enjoyment, mutual respect and guidance the dancer young or old can reach their maximum potential while developing positive self esteem and awareness. We like to think of ourselves as a BIG FAMILY!
Philosophy
Dance teaches how to use the space around us, how to move in that space and how to project our own personality into that space. Growing up is all about carving out space and finding one’s place. The beauty of dance is that it allows the body and mind to connect in such a way that self-esteem can emerge, with staying power. Success is the belief that effort-rather than perfection-is the biggest factor to overall success. If failure occurs, it is important to look at it as a problem to solve rather than a reflection of personal ability. It is important to seek out new challenges and learn from past mistakes. This creates strong, driven dancers who have the ability to deal with any situation life presents to them.
